A Moment for Me: Chai, a Book, and My Favourite Cup
Share
In a world of school runs, deadlines, dinner preps, and inboxes that never seem to quit, carving out even ten minutes of stillness can feel like a luxury. But every now and then, I find a pocket of calm — and I make it count.
It usually starts with putting the kettle on.

Then comes my favourite part: choosing the cup. One of my hand-built, hand-painted porcelain pieces. Delicate in feel, but strong — like most women I know. It fits just right in my hands. Elegant but never precious.

Today, I’m steeping a rich, spiced chai from Chime Tea, Luscious Aromatic Chai. As soon as I opened the bag, the scent hit me — warm, spiced, and just a little sweet, with maple waffle tones. Delicious! It’s an organic tea, full of depth, and pairs perfectly with a slow morning or a stolen afternoon. I curl up in my sunlit corner, warm cup in hand, and open the pages of a book I’ve been meaning to finish for weeks.
This is me-time. It’s simple, it’s sacred, and it’s entirely mine.
When I designed these cups, I imagined this exact moment — tea warming your hands, sunshine on your face, and a quiet sense of contentment wrapped around you like a favourite blanket.
So if life’s feeling full (because when is it not?), here’s your permission to pause. Brew something beautiful. Pour it into a cup that was made with care. And let yourself just be for a while.
You deserve that much.
